PROBLEM-BASED E-LEARNING SYSTEM FOR AGRICULTURE EXTENSION

Weeds and Weed Control COURSE OBJECTIVES-WEEDS AND WEED CONTROL


Upon completion of this course, learners are expected to be  able to:

(a)    Identify key weeds and their plant families;

(b)  Understand the negative impacts of weeds, and the importance of weed management;

(c)   Describe common characteristics of weeds that make them different from other plants;

(d)  Explain basic biological and ecological aspects of weed competition and reproduction

(e)   Describe common strategies used for weed management;

(f)    Understand the importance of an integrated weed management program;

(g)   Design appropriate weed management plans for a variety of weeds;

(h)   Explain the fundamentals of herbicide use, including laws, safety, and sprayer calibration; and

(i)      Recognize and diagnose herbicide injury symptoms on crops and weeds.
